There will, however, be a special election in NH next year in Carroll County's 7th House District, which covers the towns of Ossipee, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro. This area voted Trump+9, so a competitive race is possible. indepthnh.org/2025/12/17/e...

This is the second time a GOP-run town gov't has declined to hold a special election for a vacant Republican seat. In September, the town of Salem voted against a special, even though the district in question voted for Trump by 19 points.
After a Republican state representative in a red district in New Hampshire resigned in March, GOP town leaders in Salem voted to keep the seat vacant until the 2026 general elections rather than risk losing a special election.

Trump won the district 59-40 last year.
