I've heard that as well, but I think they might be conflating child mortality with maternal mortality or something of that sort (which was quite high). Whatever it was based on, I couldn't find any corroborating evidence.

I'm trying to get into the habit of posting more consistently on here and on IG even though my following is hundreds of times bigger on FB. It's been tricky to balance it with everything else in life, but I'm slowly getting better about it.
