They should use the phones in education when they can. Just like AI, a ban isn’t an answer, it leaves them unprepared. Students need to be engaged and that takes good teachers, parents, and communities.

You’re not understanding. With this tool, I can become the artist. MS Paint didn’t remove the medium of painting. This can be a tool for creation.

Then it is not my art. I just own something I described and put to creation through the eyes and thoughts of another. AI is an empowering tool. It’s how it is used that matters.

Art is important to society and provides tremendous value. AI helping create it doesn’t lower its value. If anything it gives voice to the previous voiceless artist. It may result however in significantly more “bad” art, if there is such a thing.

As someone with few artistic talents I am able to use AI to help share my imagination. It’s not perfect, but so many artists are gatekeeping because they fear their livelihoods and wellbeing. The emotion is real. The root though is societal structure.

Don’t blame AI and technology on a poorly configured society. Blame society and the establishment for not allowing us all to benefit from the fruits.
