If you're newly diagnosed autistic, expect awful comments. My BIL told me that I was just profoundly mentally ill and that I had "found a BS therapist to diagnose me as a special snowflake" . It really hurt at the time, it doesn't now. #actuallyautistic

Homeless shelters are different from what you think. We're not all mentally ill or drug users, though everyone deserves housing. So why should I have to qualify that? Bc people need to know there are families, disabled people, the elderly, and a disproportionate amount of black and brown people.
