I recently started posting to Substack. I’m curious about how Substack functions. The syrupy ‘notes’ extolling Substack and its writers - that’s what intrigues me. I recently started propagating my blog on Blogger through posting links on Substack - just posts with links - so I have had 0 views!

I understand that substack has made leaving the walled garden extremely difficult* but STARTING a substack in 2025 as a 'progressive' or even 'leftist' journalist or creator is a wild choice.

*I still have a lot of questions about why people choose to stay!
