I’m watching Avatar: the last airbender for the first time. I’m a little less than ten episodes in and enjoying it, but it is not lost on me that almost every village they visit, someone rats their location out to the Fire Nation (which, the way I see it, is an empire)

When Richard’s child comes out to him as boy, Richard is not sure what to do, but knows that he loves his child. The two of them are forced to run away to give his son a safer and better life, but in the process, Richard has to come to terms with the manipulation he had lived through.
