Fun Fact: for both games on PS1 after the initial load, you can take the disc out and the games are fully playable. You can put in your own CD for your own music.

You can unlock all the Vigilante 8 maps by swapping in a PS1 V8 disc after loading up 2nd Offense. It's pretty cool.

Vigilante 8 is kinda a Twisted Metal clone, but dang if it isn't a good one. The vibes of Vigilante 8 and 2nd Offense are good. The gameplay is a bit faster and more aggressive too methinks with the Whammy system multiplying damage and the weapon combos that give super attacks.

Bust A Groove is an interesting game that blends a rhythm game with fighting game elements. You try to outscore your opponent while also attacking them to disrupt them. The music really makes it though I think, both Bust A Groove 1 and 2 have catchy songs to play to.

Chrono Trigger has a lot of great music in it, but the overworld theme of 600 A.D. hits for me the most I think. The way it comes at you at the start of the game I think makes it for me. Seeing the world changed and trying to figure out what happened and how to get back.

Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 are really goofy platformer games. They lean into the absurdity, even more so in the 2nd game. The level design gets pretty wacky especially in the 2nd game when most of the 2nd game is gimmick levels where you aren't platforming. I like them, but they are an acquired taste.

Outside of Japan we missed out on a lot of Puyo Puyo games. It was largely Japan only, outside a few odd releases like Fever and Minna de Puyo Puyo, until Puyo Puyo Tetris got localized. Hopefully more Puyo Puyo games can come out, and maybe modern ports of the older games too.

Puyo Puyo is an all time classic puzzle game. Puyo Puyo Classic is a good base, but Puyo Puyo Tsu really got everything down. Catchy music for puzzling action too.

Puyo Puyo Classic got a few different reskins outside Japan. Kirby's Avalanche on SNES and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on Genesis.

Street Fighter has had a lot of good soundtracks, but I'm fond of the EX series. Music is great and the EX games feel really good to play. I think I prefer EX 2 more, but EX 3 has some really fun stuff too with the tag team mechanics.

Hopefully the EX games can get ports someday.

Daytona USA still has my favorite feature in a racing game:

You can just turn around and drive the course backwards. The game will still count your time and laps correctly and even gives you a special symbol on the fast times board. I want more games to steal this, it's fun.

Daytona USA is a fast and fun arcade racer with really catchy music. The Dreamcast version here has some physics/steering differences from the Arcade game and takes a bit to get used to, but the extra tracks, different cars, and remixed music is cool.

This is one of the first songs I think of when I think of Christmas or winter music.

Diddy Kong Racing is a really fun game, with being able to race different vehicles on the tracks and pretty good track design too. The Adventure mode is cool too.

God Hand is a very silly and over the top game. I personally really like it, the combat feels good. The game can be really hard though, especially on a higher difficulty or on the optional fights. Still, fun game with a really wacky end credits sequence to top it off.

The battle themes in older pokemon games are great, and the Battle Frontier has an awesome one. The battle frontier is the best post game content they've done, both the Gen 3 and Gen 4 versions. The Battle Pyramid and Battle Factory (from both 3 and 4) are my favorites.

Soul Calibur 2 is a really great feeling fighting game to play. Guest characters are cool and the different modes are fun to play around with.

Fun fact: Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 was going to be the guest character in the PS2 version, but negotions fell through at some point.
