Well the difference here is that the swap from Intel to the m series was also a swap from the x86 to the ARM chip structure.
That change was the main reason for the performance hikes with the M1 since it could integrate software way better.
That logic just doesn't apply here

This and the c1x will be really interesting to observe since they are completely new chips in the iphones. But I honestly don't expect them to be that much better than the Qualcomm alternative, they just give apple more control over their hardware
