I got an email back from Elegoo support telling me to more-or-less do what I did. Lots of detail and instructions to probe the device with a multimeter. For a device that is aimed at being more appliance-like than, say, an Ender, that's a little surprising but I'm glad I didn't void my warranty […]

Crimped on a new end, reattached, and banged out a benchy in 15 minutes. I do not recommend the add-on "anti-vibration" feet, the printer was rocking hard with all that extra smoosh.

@tayfonay at the end of the last growing season, I bought a weeding torch and slowly brushed everything that had morning glory anywhere near it with fire, it hasn't come back yet.
