Sounds about right. I could certainly spin up my own blog site, but I wouldn’t then be able to connect with other people in the same way.

Personally, I really like the idea that I can choose the algorithm that determines what shows up in my feed.

I was never super active on Twitter, but Linkedin has gotten worse and worse as they've continued to change their algorithm.
