for me, i just do PvE dailies since i don't really like pvp a ton, but depending where you are in the game it might ask you to do stuff for the daily from areas you haven't been to yet etc. so, starting out sPvP might be the easiest to complete (not WvW)

Wizard's vault is daily/weekly rewards! (the dailies and weekly achieves give you points which you then redeem for stuff)
