Day 14 - Imperial Chai - black tea with cardamom and pink pepper. Promises to be delicate and sumptuous, 200F, 4 minutes

This is a lovely chai. You don’t really taste the tea, but really get the spices, which is, I guess, how you get a sumptuous yet delicate black tea 8.5/10

Day 13 - Sahara Tea, see day 5

A little disappointing that there is a repeat already, but at least it was one I liked

Day 12 - Pu Erh Imperial - billed as a dark tea with strong undergrowth notes that is ideal for after a meal, 200F, 4 minutes

Not sure that “undergrowth” is a great word to use with tea, but it is a savory, earthy, woody yea. Very dark in color. Like a port, but tea. 7.5/10

Day 11 - Darjeeling Margaret’s Hope - Himalayan black tea that promises to be woody and full of character, 185F, 4 minutes

This is surprisingly tasty. The woodiness comes through as almost smoky, making for a delightful savory tea after the string of sweet ones we’ve just had. 8.5/10

Day 10 - Brazilian Detox Energy - green tea, mate, açaí, guarana, and acerola, 175F, 4 minutes

It smells like tropical fruit, which is not what one expects from a detox tea. The flavor is very subtle, but fruity. No taste of green tea, just subtle fruit. 7/10

Day 9 - Blue Mountain - black tea with strawberry and flowers, 200F, 4 minutes

This is a nice tea. The strawberry comes through, not very floral, though. 7.5/10

Day 8 - Scandinavian Detox - herbal tea with birch and fruits, 200F, 5 minutes

It’s less medicinal than I thought it was going to be, and the fruit seems to be a kind of artificial strawberry flavor. It’s subtle. Drinkable. Nothing to write home about. 5.5/10

Day 7 - Grand Jasmin Chun Feng - green tea with jasmine. 175F, 4 minutes

Similar to the Genmaicha Yama, it’s hard to go wrong with green tea with jasmine. Lovely and floral, velvety like the package says. 8/10

Day 6 - The Louvre Courtyard Tea - black tea with citrus and blackberry. 200F, 4 minutes

This was absolutely delicious. The blackberry really comes through so it is a fragrant, fruity black tea. Almost makes me want to go to Paris to get more at The Louvre. Almost. 9.5/10

Day 5 - Sahara Tea - green tea with rose and yellow fruit. 175F, 4 minutes.

This was nice. Subtle, a little fruity. Didn’t really get the rose, but that’s okay and probably better than veering into soapy territory. 7/10

Day 4 - Genmaicha Yama - green tea with toasted rice. 175F, 3 minutes

It’s hard to go wrong with green tea with toasted rice. I took one sip and said out loud, “Sweet jebus, that’s delicious.” Because it is. 9.5/10

Day 3 - Lover’s tea - black tea with apple and spices, promises to be indulgent and voluptuous. 200F, 4 minutes

This is lovely. Very cinnamon-y, tastes like a nice chai. Probably should have added milk, but was good on its own. Tastes like Christmas. 8/10

Day 2 - French Garden - pear and blackberry. It is said to evoke feelings of walking in a posh garden. 200F, and I left the bag in because it is such a pale tea I wasn’t sure any steeping had happened after 5 minutes.

A little disappointing in how subtle the flavors are. Mildly fruity 5/10
