No words can truly describe last night’s Venice premiere of the Voice of Hind Rajab. To collectively re-live the trauma and horror of Hind’s story with a packed audience followed by chants of Free Palestine and a 24 min standing ovation at one of the most important festival platforms in the world.

New Substack post is up! Had something else on deck this week, then after almost 60 years of service, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced its closure after Congress laid down & let them get defunded. So this public media OG had to speak up.

Idk how I missed this film when it came out in 2012, but I just caught the 4K remaster of WOLF CHILDREN directed by Mamoru Hosoda at the Alamo and goddamn! If it’s playing near you, go now! Any parent will be ugly crying with both joy and heartbreak by the end.

Idk how I missed this film when it came out in 2012, but I just caught the 4K remaster of WOLF CHILDREN directed by Mamoru Hosoda at the Alamo and goddamn! If it’s playing near you, go now! Any parent will be ugly crying with both joy and heartbreak by the end.
I especially love reading books about writing when I’ve just finished a big tough draft & need a break & a fresh outlook before diving into a rewrite. I’m wrapping up one such phase now & this time, I finally dove into @charliejane.bsky.social ‘s “Never Say You Can’t Survive” & I LOVED it.
