FINALLY got Balancers done w/ Revenant, after plenty more failed runs as her & others. This is probably the longest I've spent on any given Expedition & the most strategic tinkering with relic effects I've had to do. (Got thru it by overkilling the beta angels with giant fire + desperate crossbow.)
Just not having much luck with the (base) Balancers run in Nightreign. FINALLY got there with a fully powered up Revenant having watched however many hours of other people doing the fight and still couldn't seal the deal. It reminds me a lot of my initial Tricephalos experience.

Nightreign finally took pity on me and, after 150+ hours, naturally gave me The Crater again so I could get my final trophies. Also, shockingly, encountered the Great Hollow again. A pre-Christmas miracle!
And I'm still convinced my save is bugged Shifting Earth-wise. It still gives me overwhelming Rotted Woods with no notifications, and then I finally got Noklateo with no notification and that lasted for a single run. Pretty sure I will (offline) never see the Great Hollow again.

Also failed at the Balancers themselves with Ironeye and Raider (and another Revenant attempt), while Wylder and Executor failed to even make it that far. Definitely getting better at the double demons but still despise Mohg.

Emphasizing attractive ladies in Lords of the Fallen 2 2 is just a funny direction to go cuz they absolutely screwed up the look of the first 2 with their big "You can make attractive characters" overhaul. It was also funny how much their gameplay trailer looked like (the sexier) Mortal Shell 2.

I finally managed to skip the Geoffs (which are always disappointing) because of work and Nightreign. Seems like the usual embarrassment--too many trailers, too many awards given too quickly, over-lauding Expedition 33 in a way that makes the game look WORSE...

The symbolic molestation in the opening of Stranger Things 5 feels like it belongs to a bolder... stranger show. But that's kind of been its deal for a while--flashes of genuinely interesting, weird, gross monster stuff paired with The Blandness. Robin's radio exposition is cute until it isn't.

Between the leather nun with the big butt and the sickly, academic man, I have mainly been playing as the latter so far. He's more interesting mechanically (to me), and I like the air of bedraggled-ness.
Scholar and Undertaker designs calling to me.... Surely a little Nightreign can only hurt my controller so much.....

Expedition 33 discourse revving up again--My take is that, as much as the fandom for the game can be insufferable, generating conversation is a Game Of The Year quality, in my book. Might just be my-corner-of-the-internet bias, but I didn't see the the same for, like, Donkey Kong.

Saw some debate on Twitter the other day about when Hazbin sex jokes are actually funny, and I'm going to submit that the one with Sir Pentious in episode 6 of season 1, where he's trying to flirt with Cherri without being honest, is the best I've seen so far since it adheres to a rule of 3s format.

Now that I'm actively watching Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (after being charmed by "Clean It Up"), I might be leaning toward preferring Boss. Part of it is because Blitz(o) reminds me of Roger from American Dad for some reason, and I'm charmed by the image of Roger doing and saying all this.

The DLC characters look really good, but I'm pretty sure over 100 hours of Nightreign high-stakes stick-clicking is what finally made my original PS5 controller basically unusable, and I won't be repeating that with its (very expensive) replacement.

I like the Hazbin and Helluva character designs. Idk if there's an actual Discourse Cycle on or if the Twitter algorithm has just decided I want to stare into the sun for a while because I like zooming in on art of the furry women.

I simply don't believe Ryu Hayabusa knows what a "NinjaCoin" is; I do believe Yakumo and Umi have a few apes between them, though (Misaki convinced them to buy in so he could cash out).

Ryu is not the dedicated Combo Man. Not sure how I feel about the simplified combo lists. On the one hand, it is still fun, but I closely associate playing Ninja Gaiden with scrolling the list and trying to learn it. DMC-style combo building from simple inputs isn't the same.
I get that it acts as a tutorial for newcomers, but Yakumo not having basic Ninja Gaiden techniques like the on landing Ultimate Technique at the start is... annoying. Also, really nothing to the combo list so far. If they made Ryu the dedicated Combo Man, that's also... annoying.

Yakumo having those accursed back-forward + attack button inputs instead of good old-fashioned forward + attack button inputs has to be one of my least favorite things about Ninja Gaiden 4. Most of the weapon skills feel worthless to me in part because they're so obnoxious to pull off quickly.

Spent an ill-advised amount of money to dress up The Boys in Ninja Gaiden 4 and then got screwed out of the best outfit in the game (Yakumo pajamas) anyway. This is my Trump bulldozing the White House.
