Whereas for me, it was both an early horror exposure (given that I am a decidedly spooky bitch born to two decidedly unspooky people) & a chance to see girls kicking ass, as the first episode I saw was "Becoming Part 1."

It really was. It always was. Looking at the handling of sex in Buffy itself was our first clue. Everything else should have been obvious.

Yeah, Amarillo is up in the panhandle. I'm not saying the reaction would have definitely been better in Houston or Austin, but there'd have been a shot. Smaller cities are dramatically different from big ones, but we're comprised of a lot more small ones, which is why I can't say that isn't Texas.
