Safe to say my current reading pile is eclectic!

I’m surprised there are people who don’t know this. More people clearly need to read my Budget Biomorphs!

Psst…there’s more interesting/fun facts and stories in my Guyver book. 👍🏻

Happy Two Year Anniversary!
My book - Budget Biomorphs: The Making of The Guyver Films - will be celebrating its second anniversary on Nov 16th (how has it been two years 😱). If you see this post and weren’t aware of the book, could you share this with other like-minded Guyver film fans? It’ll really help out this indie author

I rather enjoyed that 👍🏻
Decided to take myself on a solo date to check out Predator: Badlands (back at a local indie cinema I used to frequent around seven years ago). Curious to see what Trachtenberg has done with this.

The Spanish edition of Budget Biomorphs looks like it’s shaping up nicely for an April 2026 release.

If anyone knows of any potential Japanese publishers I can reach out to, feel free to drop me a DM (as I’d love to get a version translated into Japanese).

Oooh, I spy something interesting!

I know Smokin’ Aces (2006) gets a lot of flack, but honestly I like its bizarre insanity (I’m a Carnahan fan). This moment (coupled with the Clint Mansell cue - Dead Reckoning) has been lodged in my subconscious for years. So much so, it helped inspire a recent short story because of the emotion

It’s a challenge to write truly unique horror fiction sometimes. But, if you can find an engaging angle for a familiar story, and then sprinkle in a few interesting or bizarre ideas between the horror tropes, you may just create something fun to read.

Turning 40 (back in July) brought with it a sense of clarity I’ve not had in my life. Knowing I’m a decent AuDHD writer/author with good ideas and that I’ve got so much more to show/publish, is a wonderful feeling to have despite of all the crap I’ve been through this year.

There was a lot to like about Del Toro’s version of Frankenstein. Lavish set design and a beautiful performance by Elordi as the creature being the positives. But, I still prefer Branagh’s Frankenstein. A twisted fairytale with an amazing score and high emotions (possibly overly melodramatic).

This will never not make me happy! Yes, Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez is an okay-ish game, but the opening cinematic by Sakamoto is just👌🏻👌🏻

Just to clarify, although I’m not currently writing about film, I will be going back to it soon. Atm, it’s just been nice to fall back in love with the craft again, particularly as it’s fiction.

After my personal dumpster fire of 2025, I’ll take this renewed joy of writing as a win! 🤘🏻
Over the course of two evenings I’ve written one short story (with content and ideas that surprised me) and outlined three others, one of which made me genuinely chuckle at the absurdity of it.

It might not be film history or criticism, but I’m so happy to be writing again!

Posting this again because I need to find an illustrator to help me with a project. Anyone currently taking commissions? Let's talk about details and quotations.

I want to start a new film history book, but my energy levels are depleted at the moment with everything that’s going on. To do something creative, I’ve started writing horror fiction again.

I’m hoping this will help me process things. If I get a halfway decent story out of it, that’ll be a plus!

I’ve barely been on here recently. I feel like I’ve fallen to the wayside within the writing community. Relocating, job stress, and heartbreak are not a great combination at the moment. I just want to write again.

I guess one positive is that Budget Biomorphs will be 2 years old in November 🙌🏻

It’s good to know I can fall back on The Last of Us Part I & II to help me through difficult times. Not sure why nihilistic games help, but they do.

It feels surreal to be moving back to Herts/London soon. An unexpected new start, but no doubt one that’ll be beneficial in the long run. I just want to get back to writing asap, but sometimes big life changes take precedence.

2025 has absolutely pushed my AuDHD to absolute breaking point (actually I’ve probably broken/melted down a few times this year). The next few weeks are going to upend my life in a way I wasn’t expecting. I know I can do this, but can the upcoming months be a bit kinder/slower, I’m exhausted!

Revisited Terminator Genisys (2015) last night, and you know what? 10 years on my opinion hasn’t changed, I still really like this film (I think I’m the only person who does), even if it’s a bit ‘fan-fiction-y’ at times. Genuinely sad it never became a trilogy. Plus, the Lorne Balfe score is 👌🏻
