Yeah, the GRCs are worthless if they're not something which can actually be used. Sounds about normal. My wife is trans and we're both British citizens (though living in Australia), so naturally still very invested in what's going on over there. I wish it wasn't so bleak :(

I wasn't nitpicking, I think I've just misinterpreted your post. I've seen a lot of people not understanding the differences between how UK and US Supreme Court rulings work, so wanted to clarify that it's not a beyond-hope situation for the law to be changed. Apologies for the confusion!

2010 Equality Act*

I don't support the outcome of the ruling, but important to note that this is only based on the current interpretation of the 2010 Gender Equality Act, as currently written. It's neither permanent nor immutable, it would just need to be passed through parliament to change. That's the next battle.

My work colleague and his partner got it too. Very glad @jfrcoates.bsky.social was smart enough to prompt us to get vaccinated a couple of weeks ago.
