My dad is in palliative care. He was born in 1926 during the rise of authoritarianism, enlisted in the 🇨🇦 army to defeat it during WWII, but will die now as it rises again. Almost as sad as losing him TBH.
Many people think that as you get older, you care less about politics. But it’s not true.

You start thinking a lot more about the kind of world you want to leave behind. You want it to be better than the one you were born into.

We all have a personal legacy in mind. Mine is to outlive Trumpism.

Feels like the early days of the pandemic all over again: avoiding the news because it's so soul crushingly bleak. Yet that's how evil wins, when we turn away due to exhaustion and despair. My only hope at this point is to escape into movies, books, art until some glimmer of hope returns.
