His face scrunches up.... The earlier anger continues to boil within him, the grip on his sword tightening. 9S didn't like what he was hearing, whether is was from the Resistance Leader's mouth, or from this... Guardian.... or the fact that 2B was defending them.... But... he also couldn't deny that 2B had a point. ...The Resistance he considered an ally in this war, he had no reason to distrust them.... And they've been of much help in recent missions.... He didn't like it.... but... He'll trust their word, and he'll trust 2B's judgement. The anger within him dissipates, like the sword in his hand... "...Fine". Satisfied, The Flowered Guardian continues on her way, the two following behind her up the stairs.... But her suspicions remain. She'll be keeping her eye on them in the village... especially the boy.

Following her orders, they follow behind her at a safe distance, the large oil containers shift and jiggle in their hands, the steps of their footsteps echoing in the air. The android only takes a single step onto the stairs before stops in her tracks... As she realizes one crucial thing. Confused, the pair stop as well. Before they could even ask what was the matter, Daffodil speaks up: "By the way...." Her back remains turned to them, the grips of her palms growing more potent to the point the knuckles became white... ".....You're gonna scare the residents with your weapons out like that. I advise you put them away before proceeding." her voice echoed the hall... but it felt... strained. Almost as if... she was holding back something. 9S would pay no mind to her tone, but moreso, the contents of her words. He couldn't believe what he just heard. While he was already told of the clients and their peaceful nature, he still found such a thing hard to believe... So for her to tell them to put their weapons away, it felt as if she wasn't allowing them to defend themselves from a potential enemy threat.... In return, 9S voices his displeasure. "Now hold on just a second!! You can't possibly expect us to just walk in there without any—" The android would not give him the pleasure of finishing his sentence, as suddenly, she would turn her head and glare at him angrily. 9S shuts up immediately, taken aback for a moment before Daffodil unleashes the anger she's held back. "...I'm NOT going to repeat myself..." she snapped, "Either you put those weapons AWAY, or you can leave the oil here and GET OUT..... Choice is yours, boy." Her message was loud and clear... comply with the rules or no entry. But 9S didn't care too much about whether he got in or not... moreso, he was angry with how unreasonable she was... But the fact she was doing this over -machines- didn't sit right with him, either... 2B, however, would silently come to her own conclusions.... Her grip on her sword lightened, and the blade dissipated into golden pixels at her fingertips. "9S, let's go." She starts to walk past him. "But 2B—" "Daffodil is stationed here on behalf of the Resistance, and you know that." her tone was stoic as per usual.... but he picked up on hints of annoyance as she spoke, "If they are able to put their trust in her for as long as we've been told, then we have no reason to distrust her. Now, put away your sword and let's go."

...The Androids 2B and 9S approach the Machine Village for a delivery errand. However, this time, they are approached by the appointed Guardian of the area.

The scene plays out the same as it does in the anime. Pod 042 warns 2B and 9S of nearby machine lifeforms, readying themselves, they draw their swords.... except... at the top of the stairs, a shadow emerges. The steps of heavy boots echo down the stairs, drawing closer and closer to the pair. The shadow takes on color, shape... a pair of silver eyes stares back at them, sizing them up, at her side she holds a well-kept spear. Before them stands not a machine like the Pod warned... but instead, an android, with braided tawny hair, dressed in browns and greens.... tucked behind her ear is a simple yellow daffodil. The three stand there for a moment, a word not shared between them as untrust continues to brew in her expression. Losing patience, the android speaks first, "You're the ones Lily sent over, correct?" "Ah— Y-yeah, thats us...!" 9S speaks up, stammering on account of her stern attitude. He and 2B had been warned of her... intense nature, but it was different seeing it first hand. "....I assume you're Daffodil, right? I'm 9S and this is 2B. We were asked by the Resistance to deliver Oil to this area." 9S holds up the container of oil to confirm his statement. The android he knew as Daffodil retained her critical expression... "Uh-huh...." she cocked an eyebrow at them, "So.... Question: Is Lily just... giving away my job duties now? She could have just called me for the pickup like usual." "Lily wishes to apologize for the change on such short notice..." 2B says, "Taking into consideration recent machine lifeform activity, she felt it would be in your best interest to let us handle deliveries for the meantime." The words that fell out of her mouth.... Daffodil couldn't help but cringe. The world has gotten increasingly dangerous lately, there was no denying that... But Vivi didn't need to be coddled, she could handle herself just fine out there. If she couldn't, then why else would she be stationed out here by herself..? ...For Lily to send others on her behalf for the deliveries felt a little like an insult. But... She also couldn't deny that at the end of the day, it was a leader's job to look out for others. She herself knew that all too well... With a sigh, she lets go of it... "So be it." Turning back towards the staircase, she beckons them to follow behind her, an intense glint in her eye re-emerging, "...This way."
