Isak and Šeško (at a more reasonable price) moving right after we've jumped the gun on Gyökeres

All in on Gyökeres

Liverpool going for Isak now too?

The buildup has been good. Helps that PSG really haven't wanted to exert themselves like in the 1st leg, so we've been able to play a bit of chess.

Still lots of PSG man-marking, so Timber's starting high to keep Saka open.

Rice moving across as the free man when Saliba isn't.

Two major problems to that 1st half approach that have killed us at the tail-end of great buildup:

1) No service for Saka runs
2) Nobody on the end of Saka crosses (see below)

Watching PGMOL still decide to fuck us over when our title challenge is already done and our games are now relatively meaningless

This sort of things makes it easy for PSG to force us back to Raya in a U-shape whenever we go back out.

The left side has been much better with MLS, Merino & Leo all interchanging nicely over short distances.

But, again, adjustments have helped. Here's Merino overloading unmarked to help ease us out from the back. The problem is we then lack him up front, his movement just to help us transition more easily. It's a less comfortably orchestrated process up the pitch from there.

Merino constantly on the shoulder of RM's midfield so far has helped pin the centre for MLS to drift in and overload, esp since Mbappé's always slow to react.

Worked well on the left too with Rice then making runs from deep through the halfspace and RM's midfield at MLS' mercy.

Stretched back-four today to facilitate a free-flowing diamond in the middle.

Midfield 3 rotating around Saliba, looking to pull apart the front of CHE's shape and create lanes into the dropping attacker, who has a timing advantage on his opposing defender.

Truly the only player fit to don the #9 as a CB.

This is his position spread in 20/21 vs his position spread this season. Never seen anything like it.

Nobody has anything on Jordan Bowery.

And now for a different kind of romcom
March 2, 2025 at 5:07 PM
We were laughing about how ridiculous his goal-contributing form has been at Christmas. 2 months on, he's *still* going (and this doesn't even stretch to today's G+A). Insanity.

That was a consistent stumbling block: Ø carrying it down the line with Ethan positioned in an inevitable 1v2 ahead while Timber tucked himself inside.

It was pretty routine from there to shut out Ethan's in-swingers completely and then force Ø into too deep a position to be effective from.

My latest write-up focuses on 18-year-old Antoñito Cordero.

The winger, already being linked with many big moves, is having an eye-catching first full season in the Segunda with Málaga, but is he ready for another major step up? Here's my breakdown:
