Honestly IDK, I believe in the free market of comedy. If audiences respond badly to a comedian's joke, comedians shouldn't cry about it. Most industries adapt to changing times. Rich comedians moan boohoo! You're right, there's better things to joke about.

Former comedian here, I didn't even get this joke until I read this thread. I may have missed something in the news. I watch lots of progressive shows. Trivializing violence point is worthwhile to think about.
