In Alphinaud's Unending Codex, it is written: "Upon graduating at sixteen, the Sharlayan age of adulthood." From this, we can conclude that within the world of FFXIV, it is explicitly recorded that in Sharlayan, one is considered an adult at sixteen. As Sharlayan stands as a significant center of learning, its standards can be applied to the following context. Yet Ryne was already seventeen when she first appeared—Ranaa Mihgo, a key figure in the Dancer class questline, shares Ryne's age, yet her model depicts an adult Miqo'te female. If this were merely coincidental, consider Ihanashi Bakuro of Doman, also seventeen, whose model similarly portrays an adult Hyur Midlander male. Kai-Shirr Olkoh, another key figure in Eulmore, is likewise 17 years old and uses an adult Mystel male model. Therefore, in my view, the claim that "Ryne is an underage child" does not hold up. Where does arrogance come from? When you believe homosexuality exists solely to attract attention, and heterosexual relationships exist only for reproduction—that is arrogance. When you see a man and a woman and immediately think of something not safe for work, then force those thoughts onto everyone else—that is arrogance. Relationships encompass far more than romance—family bonds, friendships, mentor-student connections, and more all fall under this umbrella. My feelings for Thacryne are complex. To me, whether they evolve into a romantic relationship, remain forever in this blend of familial affection and friendship, or develop into soulmates or ageless companions, they remain a ship I adore. Their dynamic is wholesome and brings me joy. I love Thacryne. Even if I uninstall FFXIV, my affection for them won't diminish one bit. If you can't understand, feel free to DM me for a detailed discussion—but don't screenshot my profile to hurl insults. That's cyberbullying. If you're a Gaia/Ryne shipper and find yourself blocked by me, please don't be angry—this is the best I can do. I've explained countless times why I dislike Gaia/Ryne pairings, but people's perspectives vary. I can't change others' views, but I can carve out a space where I feel comfortable. I appreciate the fanart and fanfiction you create—I won't judge your hard work. The world needs more diverse creators. Just as some are lactose intolerant while others enjoy milk, people are diverse. This difference extends to fandom too. When my brain sounds the alarm—"This pairing stresses me out"—I choose to block. You can block me too. Don't feel pressured; let's simply give each other space so we can create more joyfully. I don't believe disliking Gaia/Ryne equates to opposing LGBTQ+ rights. It's simply a matter of preference—some people prefer apples, others oranges. As my bio states, I'm deeply dissatisfied with the Eden series. To elaborate further would only sound harsh, but please understand: If you ship a couple not for their detailed story but purely for their gender, isn't that putting the cart before the horse? I'm a pansexual woman with a girlfriend. My country harbors hostility toward LGBTQ+ people, so I understand your anxiety. But please understand: I dislike a specific relationship because I dislike it—it has nothing to do with support or opposition. If you insist on conflating the two, I won't waste my breath arguing with you. The block feature exists for a reason.
