I'm thalna2403 on the hellsite.
Books, dogs, and figure skating.
I am SO SICK of this sport. Yes, I know there are creeps absolutely everywhere but really that seems especially prevalent in FS.
She was 11, for f's sake.

Okay Duolingo, not sure I'm gonna have the opportunity to use this one any time soon 😅🙃.

You will be missed, Marianne, RIP 🕊

Lecture !

29 years. I can hardly believe it.
The pain never goes away, it becomes different somewhat especially now that I'm much older than you both ever had the chance to be.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #96,010!

First 1%, yoohoo!

Finally finished watching The Boys season 4 and that was very much a filler season. Too many side stories as well. But I'm now hyped for the final season because of that ending!

I've watched the 4 available episodes of The Boys season 4. They upped (again) the cursor regarding gore and violence, I don't mind but I'm getting a bit jaded about it. I still enjoy the story and how they're making fun of alt-right/maga ppl but it's getting a bit same old same old.

Still catching up. Last month I've read The Guncle Abroad and as much as I LOVED The Guncle, I thought this sequel was weaker. Still perfectly enjoyable and even funny (at times) but not as good.

I've read the latest Riley Sager, Middle Of The Night. Ppl who know me know I have a love-hate relationship w/ Sager but this was one of the good ones, 4 solid stars. I'm so glad he finally went for a male MC (he's terrible at writing women) and the story was thrilling and actually made sense!

Finished the brand new Lucy Foley, The Midnight Feast and well, I like slow-burns but this one was really too slow for about the 1st 60%. The last 3rd was much better and I enjoyed it quite a lot, but I'll only rate the whole thing 3 stars. A bit disappointed as I usually really like her books.

Finished Real Americans by Rachel Khong, a fantastic generational story, quite different from what I usually read.
The 3rd part felt a bit disjointed from the first 2 IMO but still I really enjoyed this book, it was so inventive and fresh.

I'll keep listing my recent(ish) books.
💙📚👀
I've read both One Of Us Is Lying and One Of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus. I found them highly entertaining, clever and well-written.
The second one was a bit more far-fetched than the first but nothing compared to recent adult thrillers.

I'm gonna try to list (most of) the books I read again.
💙📚👀
Just finished California Golden by Melanie Benjamin, a glorious historical fiction set in California in the 1960s at the peak of surf culture. It's also (mostly) a family saga and I really enjoyed it.
