I would like to educate myself AND my kid since apparently the rural school he’s forced to go to after we recently lost our housing is teaching whitewashed AF history, still in 2025. Like the same shit I learned in the 90s.

A list of books and resources I’m looking for typed in the notes app on my phone since it was too long to post. Text reads: - kids books about indigenous stories (for kids around 6-10) - reliably sourced books on the real history of America, not necessarily for kids but a way I can further educate myself to help educate my kid. Preferably from indigenous people/scholars but from legitimate anti-colonial historians is good too - Somewhere to find worksheets/coloring pages about indigenous people and their cultures, celebrating them and educating about them. Everything I’ve found on my own has felt very white washed and I want them to be at the very least vetted by indigenous people, preferably made by them.

I’m a trans single parent my electric bill is due tonight and if I don’t pay it, it’ll be shut off. I’ve got no other options.
