Oh for sure it's a terrible perspective if it's your only window into the world. I should have been more clear in describing it as merely one such window/point of interaction instead.

It feels almost telling that people don't want you to have a space where you can catch up on news, follow media personalities you like, and chat with your friends without having an outside opinion shoved down your throat.
