I loved this game, and it runs better on the Series X. The job system was fun. The Saturday morning cartoon vibe was spot on. The Toriyama characters are perfectly suited here. I much prefer this over any Dragon Quest game I’ve ever played.

I only learned last night that Infidelity has updated his SNES Punch-Out port. I just ran through it today, and though there seem to be some color issues moving from NES to SNES, the game felt fine. I mean, I beat Tyson, so it can’t be all bad. :P I love that it keeps records and all.

I did a taste test recently for a market research company. They don’t pay cash anymore, so I got a $45 Visa card. Yesterday, I used the card to buy a SNES Reflex CTRL and the VF5 PS5 upgrade. Somehow, it all feels like house money, so I’m feeling pretty happy about my “free” gifts.

The greatest leap forward in console gaming for me isn’t 4K or HDR; it’s 120fps. Cutting theoretical input latency down to times faster than a CRT’s has been really helpful for action gaming. I actually wish they’d put out more living room TVs at 1080p120+.
