The next steps are unclear, but my gut instincts are tempting me to retreat from it all and take a step back again.

Unsurprisingly, this is happening more often lately, so the draining mental effects I’m feeling are exacerbated. I’m having trouble combatting my reactionary habits, but the first step has been this acknowledgment.

I’ve realized that it’s caused me to go down rabbit holes searching for whatever the statements of the moment are likely referencing. Often, I’m not even sure if I’ve found the related piece of news. I find myself repeatedly going “what now?”
