it was incredibly ahead of its time, very energy efficient, completely automated, with barely any electronics, mostly leveraging a super smart cable setup, allowing the cutesie little pods to be hauled and then reverse by themselves without any staff.

this system was developed by french company soulé, specifically by an engineer called yann de kermadec, in the 1980s, perfected in the 1990. the aim was to help solve the challengers of moving people efficiently on 1-2km trips, as a feeder to other transit modes, on big fair grounds or parking lots

Alors oui mais non… Ce n’est pas une UM puisque les 2 rames encadrées sont en véhicule 😉 Mais c’est un attelage de 4 éléments, oui… dont 2 seuls fonctionnent 😊
