- The rich get richer (A Tax Policy Center analysis of the Senate bill shows that wealthy Americans would benefit far more from the tax package than those lower on the income scale)

- Immigrants may no longer qualify for benefits (The bill would limit eligibility for federal benefits — including food stamps, Medicaid, Affordable Care Act premium subsidies and Medicare — to some immigrants, such as refugees, asylees and victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking)

- Cuts in clean energy (According to NYT, "The bill would roll back policies that support clean energy. That includes tax credits for solar and wind projects, as well as credits that help Americans buy heat pumps and electric cars. It would even impose a new tax on clean energy projects.")

- Limiting pell grant eligibility (To avoid a $2.7 billion shortfall in the Pell Grant program later this year, the bill looks to change the treatment of foreign income and a student aid index to limit who qualifies for Pell Grants. It also eliminates grants for students with full scholarships)

- Lower student loan limits, fewer benefits (Less student loan relief. Supporters of the bill say it'll shift the student debt burden off taxpayers back onto those who took out the loans. Critics of the bill say it'll keep people in debt longer and force more of them to default.)

- Increase in child tax credit (Gives families with qualifying dependent children a tax break. But according to Elaine Haag, senior fellow in the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, the bill wouldn't help 17 million children from low-income families who don't earn enough to claim the full credit.)

- Significant cuts to food stamps/nutritional assistance (According to CNN, "The bill would broaden the existing work mandate to enrollees ages 55 to 64 and parents of children ages 14 and older, as well as to veterans, former foster youth and people experiencing homelessness.")

- Millions lose Medicare coverage (Congressional Budget Office predicts 11.8 million more Americans will become uninsured by 2034 if this passes)
