The hat came off the needles last night. The yarn is Shirsty Cat Designs BFL DK in the colorway Smoke. The hat pattern is free from Purl Soho . I made the adult medium and had 28g left.

The Milk Punch hat (by @theacolman.bsky.social ) is all dry and ready for my father-in-law. The yarn is Nest Worsted by @magpiefibers.bsky.social in a OOAK colorway. I originally got the skein to swatch for a sweater, which I hope to start in the near future.

As expected, there is a visible fold line, but I believe that I can spot block that out by just wet blocking that portion with towels and a spray bottle. In other news, the writing is underway, photoshoots are to come, and tutorial(s) are in the works. 🧶

First time aggressively blocking a shawl folded in half. If it doesn't work out at the fold line, then I reblock it (after getting additional blocking pads and pins).

Originally, Sleeping Satellite was just going to be one size, using one mega-skein of Moonshine. But then that came off the needles right before vacation, leaving me without a project to go down Rehoboth Beach with.

This week's prompt for #showmeyourknits is autumn. This is my Shadow Weave shawl design. Fiber Optic Yarns held a KAL for it, and I used her Copper to Verdigris paintbox gradient and Whacky Khaki colorway to make this version. 🧶

Sleeping Satellite came off the needles just before leaving for vacation. Today was the first day that I had a chunk of time and daylight to do the blocking. Wow! I did not expect it to block out this large! I can't wait to see how it is once it is dry.

I generally only use 90% of the yarn that I list for a pattern (unless I state otherwise) to allow for swatching and being a bit off with gauge. For the Drift Cowl, I had 44g left of the Non-Superwash Sock and 16g left of the Suri Silk. 🧶

Photos of drifting sand were the inspiration for the Drift Cowl. The interplay of light and shadow suggested using two yarn bases in the same colorway. I chose @29bridgesstudio.bsky.social Non-superwash Sock and Suri Silk in Rose Gold to bring this project to life.
