the bad IPS panel makes sense given the suspiciously low cost. it costs about the same as most 28 inch 4k monitors here

positives: i can see 90-100 lines of code comfortably at once, which is insane

it's also a good thing i don't use dark themes as much anymore because the screen is stupidly reflective lol

it's also not the best IPS panel, so there is some bleeding across the corners, but that seems to be mostly remedied by sitting like 90-100 cms away

i definitely had to change up quite a bit about the way my desk is set up to deal with the size, like it was impossible to use comfortably without a keyboard tray, and i'm still figuring out height settings that make sense.

i'd stopped using splits in ghostty / tmux ages ago but i'm actually going to need to incorporate them back into my workflow now

i think this might also keep me from falling asleep when i'm working, later in the day!

yeah, i am thinking of getting a proper split keyboard because i too noticed that a truly split keyboard would lead to much better stability when walking

i might even just not use my monitor when i'm sitting just so i'm incentivized to get up every hour and switch to walking

it arrived today and it looks like that won't be a problem!

except this is one of the most expensive parts of the city and though there are a lot of shops, they’re just all dumb boutiques or fine dining places. all i want is a little tea shop that i can walk to several times a day to take breaks from work, and a nice supermarket but nooo
