And then they realized, they were no longer little girls. They were Little Busters.

I know people like to use this as a meme format and it’s fun and all but we really need to keep spreading the original around

11. The 25th Ward: The Silver Case - Could you lend me 50,000 yen?
February 14, 2025 at 10:25 PM
10. Gitaroo Man Lives - one of the best “OVA feel” games/concept albums
February 14, 2025 at 6:41 PM
9. Hypnospace Outlaw - makes me nostalgic for a time that wasn't mine
February 13, 2025 at 1:23 AM
8. Drakengard 3 - it still doesn’t cease to amaze me that Square Enix published a game as anti-commercial as this. Manic, disgusting, hilarious, beautiful

7. We Love Katamari - I can sing a song for you and me, I can make a song for all who feel love (I love you)

6. Chaos;Child - the best SciADV game. I don’t think I’ve seen a game capture what it was like to be a teenage zillennial navigating web culture of the time as well as this one. I see SciADV as being “time capsule” stories so I suppose the one that depicts my microgeneration would be my fave

5. The Cat Lady - grindhouse horror mixed with quietly devastating reflections on human connection. Wouldn’t change a thing about this one
February 11, 2025 at 5:34 AM
4. Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone - I miss this series so much. The whole series is quintessential rhythm gaming with loads of cuteness and customization options, and Future Tone is an amazing compilation of the entire franchise into one exhaustive package

3. Style Savvy: Trendsetters - Noted Yakuza developer Syn Sophia cracked the code on making the perfect dressup game and banged out one of the best trilogies on the 3DS. Real gamers know how GOATed this niche series, separates the boys from the men

2. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly - I love all of the PS2 trilogy but I’m using 2 for striking the best balance between gameplay and narrative. FF escalated the survival horror formula of the time into a canvas of thematic exploration while still maintaining the thrills and shocks

1. Chulip - I love the childlike whimsy of the game mixed with some heavy subjects. Learning to love like a child again while navigating a society that seeks to tear you down. So many thought the obfuscation and rough edges were flaws but I see them as fitting for how hard it is *to* love someone

I’m gonna try to pull some more interesting picks for this and show some variety.

I’ve only seen Zhenji’s intro cutscene but this is already the best portrayal of her in all of Dynasty Warriors. Fully understands the tragedy of such a sensitive and cerebral woman being forced to be defined as the wife of a powerful man, kept from self-actualizing. I love her so much

7. 21 Jump Street - "I was gay when you punched me!"
January 13, 2025 at 5:12 AM
6. Tekken 8 - those crunchy SFX when you land a hit are so satisfying. I'll never truly "get into" Tekken but I continue to be impressed by how accessible the games are even with their unconventional buttons.

5. You've Got Mail - man Tom Hanks is such an asshole in this one but also Meg Ryan is impossible to hate so it kind of balances out? Makes me nostalgic for a time that wasn't mine
January 11, 2025 at 7:01 PM
4. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice (replay) - it's got problems (Nahyuta is bad, Khurai'in can be ridiculous sometimes) but it's also easily the best of the new trilogy for being innovative and actually having some confidence in what it wants to be unlike the prior AJ games
