The gorgeous and relatively unusual pink flushed Rhododendron sino nuttallii. Those flowers are very fragrant and measure 13cm across. Strong enough scent to smell from a few metres away at times.

Higo iris in the meadow down by our stream. Every year they flower and every year, they make my heart sing.

Apparently Violas grow really well here in #NewZealand. This seed grown one hasn't stopped looking like this for months. #Flowers #Gardening #NZGarden

Apparently #Hippeastrum (commmonly called #Amaryllis) grows really well in the North Island of #NewZealand. These natives of S America are perennials here. These are growing in a hell strip in front of a hotel. #Bulbs #Flowers #Garden

The new place I'm living is a heathland of Leptospermum scoparium, but the ground underneath is coated with this #Lichen (Cladonia confusa). A rather surreal looking landscape. #NewZealand #NZFlora #Moss

I found these right outside my door. Drosera pygmaea a #CarnivorousPlant native to Australia & #NewZealand. Tiny rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves with sticky tentacles are used to capture bugs. Leaves are often reddish & the flowers are yellow or white. #NZFlora #CarnivorousPlant #Horticulture

We seem to have moved to the end of the rainbow here in Far North, Aotearoa New Zealand. This is at least a weekly occurrence. They’re often so close that you feel as if you could reach out and touch them. Now where is that pot of gold?!

Waipunga waterfall, between Taupō and Napier in NZ. It's on the edge of a giant volcanic plateau. In this occasion, a very wet winter had increased the usual flow of water. Photographed 📷 as a long exposure. From my waterfall online gallery www.nznaturephotos.co.nz/p816347517
