Thing is... Erdogan is still in power. From that perspective it wasnt a problem.

I recall a teacher once saying that violent extremism/terrorism aint so much motivated by beeing poor, but by beeing much poorer than Others, so violence against those - rightly or wrongly - seems like a solution. Who knew this also works the other way around.

Oh, of course, this was in no way a defense of that practice. Its just my most likely explanation why he is saying something that seems to make no sense.

I think its mostly buzzword for them. You can use machine learning for prediction or estimation based on your own data (scientists do that so they can better predict experimental results for better planning). But thats not GenAI and they wanna say that to investors.

Also, this does Not require AI. If you need that - and there can be good reasons - there are other ways: Cheat Codes, adjustable difficulty... Whats the Advantage of letting the AI play?

Ideally, a well designed game does not get you stuck unless for a good reason (i. E. Challenge). Obv reality is different, but good designers still (mostly) ensure the desired difficulty.

So, this will encourage deliberatly bad game design. See also Games designed to sell microtransactions

Also: No, this is not artists wanting the main haul over thousands of other people working on a movie, because they came up with a name.
Even a symbolic sum out of respect when the plot and characters are based on their work and with a cast making millions would be a massive improvement

Honestly, a fan of a model that was talked about a few years ago with the Witcher games vs. books. The idea- though dont know if it held up in court - seemed no matter the contract artists always have SOME claim and if the compensation turns disastrously unfair may demand more adequate in post.

Also I dont understand the backlash against no racial alignment? 1. Even before the rules, Drizzt (and other good chars of evil races) existed for decades.
2. For the 'XP-fodder/stock badguys', evil races still work, they often still have mostly evil cultures, its just not inherent.

I also maintain that for all the faults one can rightly point at grognards, baring a few exceptions and the REALLY old guard they dont seem homophobic/against more diversity.
I mean Pathfinder was basicly marketed extensivly towards them - sucessfully so - and has more LGBT+ content by a mile.
December 3, 2025 at 8:48 AM
Pathfinder in most areas would be the nostalgia fueled alternative aimed at the grumbling old guard. Its more complex and harder to get into, has a ton more bookkeeping, rewards experienced/optimizing players more and, you know, is based on older D&D. And yet more LGBT+ than D&D by far
November 30, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Pathfinder is generally seen as the "Old school" alternative and spun of to appeal to older D&D fans upset with the changes of newer D&D (4th edition particularly). It also has LGBT+ characters left and right. As such its kinda hard to belief that D&Ds older/'real' fans hate LGBT+ people.

(Not as in more taxes, more votes, but 1 vote per bracket, so If the richest 10 % have, Like, 5 Tax brackets between them, because they go from 300k to 300 mil that group gets 5 votes)
November 14, 2025 at 8:28 AM
On the one Hand, definitly. On the other Hand, I fear they are gonna try some roman-empire shit with votes per Tax brackets.
November 14, 2025 at 8:26 AM
Oh god, yes. A construction store here in germany started having 1 isle per department, where there either are employees. And if not there is a phone which informs the next one, so they can talk to you/come, and otherwise they leave you alone. Its great. More should do that.
November 8, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Its encouraging that they seemingly dont have the Power to just... Ignore the circumcstances. Like, given past records I thought Johnson Just... Wouldnt seat her, even though he has to. Or they just dont Release the files, votes be damned. But it seems they cant
November 8, 2025 at 9:05 AM
I admittetly dont know much about that, but given past track records could he just... Not do that?
Although I certainly do hope that this would be too blatant, even for Johnson, he seems determined enough to try.

Tbh, its more the "execution for anything involving X, no parole" part that scares me/makes me think the man has issues. We have left the "but plenty drugs are fine" stage. Even if ONLY illegal drugs were harmful and were so massivly, "anyone in possesion/dealing needs to die NOW" would be crazy.
November 6, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Makes sense. Would be a pretty... interesting hyperadvaned civilisation, that just randomly decides to make the ceiling of floor 143 of their supercomplex 20+ m thick
November 6, 2025 at 10:18 PM
1. Even 'drugs so Bad, they justify extralegal murder' falls apart when there is no Proof. Or is it 'beeing accused of drugs means death'
2. Wanna execute tax Cheats? Similar to Low Level drug Dealers.
3. Coffee, alcohol... Are you saying we should execute Restaurant owners?

Did they start, IDK, digging around neoclassical buildings? Just running there with a shovel and dig Out the supposed rest of the buildings?

problem is, how effective is suing the US government. This stuff happens with private companies , those than get sued/go through bankruptcy. But Germany can hardly start confiscating US government property. In the past, no government would risk losing their payment trustworthieness, but currently...
November 6, 2025 at 8:18 AM
Unfortunatly, he wont. Plans for this were always there, concerning German staff on US bases. Germany loans the payment, US pays back once shutdown over. (AFAIK never necessary).
Problem is, US already hinted they wont pay back. So Germany paying will just save them money post shutdown.
November 6, 2025 at 8:15 AM
I should note, that this shutdown seems more universal, i. e. also concerning basic supplies etc. than was planned in the past. But again, for germany that is theoreticly no problem - its just that there is no gurantee they will be refunded post shutdown.
November 6, 2025 at 8:12 AM
This concerns the german staff at US bases in germany. In theory, this is normal: While AFAIK never necessary, there were plans to lend missed pay due to shutdown. Once they get that missed pay from the US, germany gets refunded... But the US has hinted that it wont pay those missed paychecks, so...
