The great irony of modern home video is that stuff like Exorcist 2/3 is treated way better than the first*.

All because WB is fine licensing out lesser works to labels who will charge collectors $40, but *has* to keep the good stuff in-house at $15 for casuals.

*theatrical cut still MIA on Bluray!

I would count this as more of a Halloween™ movie than horror, per se, but the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow is excellent.

Buckets of atmosphere and a fun cast of character actors being goofy.

There used to be a woman in the UK called Mary Whitehouse, who ran many stupid censorship campaigns.

Infamously, she got Doctor Who dragged off air because that week's cliffhanger ended with a fight scene and "children would spend a week thinking Dr Who had been killed".

We now live in her world.

Every time that Hot Ones Matt Damon video goes viral (where he talks about the death of the home video market), people always miss his very obvious subtext.

viz. "If you people don't start paying 10-20 bucks for regular mid-budget movies again, you aren't gonna get any more of them".

Feel like not knowing that this type of guy exists is what stunts a lot of Israel analysis.

Legit think the way they handle the classic series releases in the US on TUBI/Blu-ray is the smartest way to go.

Just reset the count with each new doctor and silo them on release platforms.

The shot where he and Reno are introduced is a mini-masterclass on camera and actor blocking.

(Apologies for the quality, this app is still terrible with GIFs)

Wait. I’m getting word that the Doctor Who Christmas special is “overly sentimental?”and “noticeably weaker than any average episode of the show?”.

Disturbing news. Will report back when I hear more.

Though, in a way, that just adds to the uncanniness.

So pissed that the expanded score release sold out and never got another run because licensing this stuff from Disney is like pulling teeth.

The sections about the hellish productions on MiB2/3 have to be read to be believed.

This is basically where I've landed after trying to forensically tabulate all this stuff.

Part of what makes Elmer so great is that he has arguably one of the least consistent designs in all of the classic Looney Tunes run, but it doesn't matter.

All are still true Elmers.

They do the same "Gob forgets conjunctions and contractions" gag over and over again and it's great every single time.

I love the reality show Grand Designs; it's fun to laugh at silly rich people who cluelessly try to build their own houses.

But nothing beats the episodes where they decide they really want to restore part of the pre-existing old house.

People who violate tombs don't unleash curses that bad.
