Not the prettiest pixel art, but I hope it gets the point across.

I should note that I made the "without compositing artifacts" version manually so there might be some mistakes ​:neobot_drowsy:​
A pixel art image of a small grassy plain with mountains in the background. The image is 24x16, and uses 9 colors. The pixels are twice as wide as they are tall. Seeing the same pixel art image, but without the (fake) compositing artifacts, reveals that the image is a 32x24 4-color image comprised mostly of vertical stripes, still generally in the shape of a mountain and a small hill.

Okay, next test will be with the actual CGA color palette. I think IBM might've been onto something making the default palettes bright and garish?
