See your point but the problem isn’t city centre density - see London, Paris, Barcelona, NYC - it’s more that young creative talent needs that density to thrive, but it won’t if they can’t afford to move there. Building more (expensive, boxy) houses in the suburbs won’t solve that problem.

I visit Leeds / Sheffield / Newcastle regularly and the same is happening there, too; the same urban ‘residential towers’ that locals can’t afford; the same erasure of local culture; the same over-priced nights out. Where will it end?
