Which cup is heavier?

Trick question, they all use about the same~ amount of clay... The little espresso cup has the thickest walls! Making it the heaviest of the three.

Rule #1 with thick espresso cup... Preheat well or your coffee will be cold!

What do you do with pots that don't make the cut?

Flashing slip on plate rims, oh so satisfying!
Large bowls and plates I spray the outside with thin slip on greenware and brush on the rim before putting them in the bisque.

Finally some good weather! Get those shelves cleaned, clear those solar panels (try to run the electric kiln on sunny days!). And process that wood! When your arborist friend brings you 3 big oak trees...!!!

Other than sticking my head in the sand...Coffee and flashing slip today! I don't know which makes my morning better. 😊

Have as good of a day as you can Carole!

Best mug warmer ever.
I have some wood edging made to go around my tiles, but I'm now thinking to keep it all ceramic? Wood or ceramic?

We put in geothermal a while back, and added the wood stove as back up heat... I feel we heat more with wood now because it's so beautiful!

When you realise the forms you're making are influenced subconsciously by your everyday boring old coffee pot....

....or did I buy the coffee pot because it's shape was like some of mine?

First post. I make soda fired pottery, my real last name is Hildebrand, but thought Terry Potter was nice and corny.

I live in Canada with my partner who is a printmaker. I use porcelain and some stoneware to fire in my Bailey soda kiln.

Cheers! I hope to get to know you all.
