My son travels on that line to London regularly. Some might consider my concern to be valid, not reactionary.

If he had been on that train (which is plausible) then all that data wouldn’t have mattered one iota.

Just imagine Global pulling @mrjamesob.bsky.social off air for being critical of the elected leader & using corporate manipulation to do so.

I’d tend to agree. Or at least want to believe so.

But the spread & normalisation of those talking points is seeping into the headspace of people (skint, justifiably pissed off people at that) who wouldn’t have given that shit the time of day a few years ago.

That’s been my experience, anyway.

I hit an end point yesterday, when someone I love started parroting the Facebook talking points on the Robinson march & the counters weren’t sinking in.

I’m not prepared to die on that hill and fall out with people I love. Fuck it.

Sadly Lord Rothermere & his ilk appear to be winning the battle.

I keep saying this to people in my circle too, but it’s not sinking in & they can’t see the direction of travel just the perpetual headlines, bad feeling, othering & bad actor figures who are more effective commentators than our PM.
