These two teams are both winners, no matter what happens tonight.
Blue Jays had an amazing season.
And the Dodgers are just - the Dodgers.
Having said that - Go Jays!

Absolutely agree.

Unfortunately I think yes. He doesn't seem to take to heart what Reagan said about tariffs or immigrants so I doubt he would care. It makes me very sad seeing this though.

I think every bone and muscle in my body tells me it isn't young - at times!

It's all relative. I thought 79 was old when I was 50 and my dad passed away at 79. "Well, he lived a good long life" we all said.
Now I'm 79 and I realize I don't feel old at all. If you are blessed to be healthy you are lucky. I hope I have a few more years. I still have dreams.

Is this a real, true story? Hard to believe. Why would the US allow this?

This is wonderful. And it highlights the fact that they look for someone who is consistent in their quest for peace.

Got my pilot’s license at age 51, commercial license at 53. I have the most wonderful memories of flying with my son and friends. I’m 79 now but that’s the one thing I am so glad I did while I still could.

You do know how the new rules work, don't you?

It was all meaningless anyway without any representative of Hamas there. And I know, they won't negotiate with Hamas - but ro have no representative at all for the Palestinians just means they want to impose their will, not really work out peace between Israel and Palestine.

I sold my car a year ago. I haven’t regretted it for a minute. It’s easy for me though, as I’m retired, I can take my time using public transit. But once you get to know the schedules it is easy to move around with little time wasted.

He's having us on, right?

So who is going to stop him?

Missed you both.

I was thinking more of "mediation". Using a neutral person to help facilitate discussions. I do think that can be helpful. But I know that isn't what is going to happen here.

No apologies necessary. You've been respectful. It's just the short-comings of trying to explain myself in short tweets mostly.
I was more thinking of arbitration in the area of law practice, where both parties might want that. But actually I think I got that wrong.

Where do I say this?
And I know the airline owes me a refund or rebooking - good luck with the rebooking - thousands of others need rebooking also. But I doubt they owe me for a Vrbo booking.
All my sympathies are with the flight attendants. I think I have stated that.

One other thing, I think we do decide what’s fair - all the time - with the decisions we make daily. At least, we generally accept the status quo.
We need a government more attuned to the needs of the working class.

Forgive me for trying to save some money using Vrbo. Lesson learned. I might just go with a cheap hotel next time. Maybe.
August 17, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Sorry, I’m playing devil’s advocate a bit here but I am old, on a pension - the idea I could just lose not only a holiday (I don’t really mind that so much) but also a lot of money is very upsetting - and yes, I wish I hadn’t booked Vrbo. If I had booked a hotel I could still cancel with no penalty

That workers put in hours that they do not get paid for is just wrong. Why is this the industry standard? Why haven’t other bargaining sessions resolved this? Yes, it should be addressed.
I reject the premise that it is somehow my fault though.
August 17, 2025 at 5:39 PM
How?
I appreciate the reasonable discussion here.
Personally, until we have a more democratic socialist society, there is always going to be this shitty dynamics - owners want more - workers want more. Billionaires control far too much. Not saying this is necessarily the case here.
