I do want the Greens to win here, maybe then Labour might consider their "don't vote Reform when you can have Reform Lite" strategy.

Reminds me of the computer training I was offered when I was made redundant from a dying industry. Basically showed you how to use a browser and how to read and write emails, that's it. All they are going to do is show you how to enter a prompt into chatgpt and do nothing about confirming the result

I think a lot of it is also due to being taken out of your small social bubble and having to mix with people from a wider range of backgrounds rather than the education itself. Look how cities are usually left leaning while small seaside towns are home of reform.

Every accusation is really a confession.

Except they are doing nothing to cling to power. Whilst they have quietly introduced some good progressive bills the leadership constantly banging on about immigrants is just chasing away their own voters.

Being a Manchester resident, if Burnham was running he's likely to win, without him I think Labour will lose. But the leadership doesn't want someone so liked in parliament as he's a threat to the right wing of the party that is in control. I really think Labour doesn't want to win the next election

Denmark should tell Trump that they can sell Greenland to him when he introduces universal healthcare and the same EU workers rights the Greenlanders currently have. It will quickly be forgotten about.

Just plain old projection. Given the chance white racists would love to go around killing non-white people of their cups get away with it, so assume non-white people would think the same way as they are incapable of acknowledging others might have a different mindset to them.

Oh yes, in a position that even if he had rebel MPs he could force through whatever he wanted. Leveson 2, tax the rich, proportional representation to virtually guarantee labour remaining in power. No, we won't bother with that in case it upsets Farage.

Biggest bunch of cowards we've ever had in government, and that's after the last bunch that just governed by press release instead of doing any work.
January 5, 2026 at 12:39 PM
This Labour government really don't have an opinion on anything, in case it upsets the press that are still going to attack them.

The last quote shows he still doesn't understand that as asylum seekers don't come from mental asylums
January 5, 2026 at 3:03 AM
Does he understand that all that would happen is that David Lanny would become acting prime minister?
January 4, 2026 at 3:41 PM
It says something that they need to employ a PR firm, rather than just doing good work.

Apparently designing the fireworks display is yet another job that Sadiq Khan manages to do as well as running London.

It annoyed me as a child that well-read meant you had read a few classic novels, rather than encyclopedias and learnt information from non fiction books.

Well to be honest, oil is the biggest drug the Americans can't stop being addicted to.
December 12, 2025 at 11:52 AM
So they are all terrified of Trump and what he might do to them if they die any sign of dissent. Cowards.

As a 60 year old in previous years I've been offered flu and COVID jabs. Not this time, I have to pay for them myself at a time when money is tight.
December 11, 2025 at 8:34 PM
You've really got to be confident that a democratic government isn't going to be in power after Trump and find your Trump card is cancelled, so paying the millions of dollars demanded for only 3 years of access to the USA

When New Labour seems much more left wing than the current Labour party.
December 6, 2025 at 1:40 PM
Can I assume there won't be one man in the building either? Or has it nothing to do with being a "women only" space but everything to do with terf bigotry?
December 6, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Labour really are doing everything they can to chase away what should be their main support, just to attract the reform voter who is never going to support them. They are really trying to lose the next general election even worse than the Tories did.

Always love how the very limited power of Bluetooth and WiFi are seen as dangerous, meanwhile there's never a problem with the massive transmitters that are powerful enough to send TV programmes over the whole country for the past 70 years and radio signals for even longer.

On that basis, if someone worked for you for two years then refused to work, if you sacked them they could also sue you for wrongful dismissal.

It's not giving new workers extra rights, it's just giving them the same rights as every other employee.
