Bear in mind though that you MAY and SHOULD talk—a lot more than you do, even if you’re doing it all the time—about the beat change in the chorus to TAKE ON ME by A-HA

Nothing herein should be construed, however, as an injunction against talking about REDONDO BEACH by Patti Smith. Please continue talking about that.

With the additional caveat that *of course* please continue talking if you’re talking about DO YOU REALIZE?? by The Flaming Lips.

I take it back! You’re also allowed to talk about ONLY YOU by YAZOO.

A few personal favorites: Uncle John’s Band, El Paso, Brown-Eyed Women, Ripple. The way most fans seem to engage with them is by listening through entire concerts, though, and my favorite for that is Cornell 5/8/77 (available on Spotify, teal cover).

The best example that comes to mind for BD is You Ain’t Going Nowhere, but my favorite example of nonsense-lyrics-about-Everything is Close to the Edge by Yes.

Can’t disagree with any of that except the lyrics. I don’t know another singer whose output feels so consistently “literary,” even when lyrics are nonsensical. I like a song with nonsense lyrics because, if it’s well written enough, the song sounds like it’s about *everything* rather than nothing.

The second juggler was not quite as skilled, but he was much younger and therefore presumably not as far in his juggling career. It’d be interesting to compare them in their respective primes.
