I'd be shocked if didn't find a nice quiet central spot in the city centre in October.

...half, stay as near to Comedie as possible.
You will certainly find something closer than Place de France in October, but if you cannot, it's not really all that far. Montpellier is not Paris, or even Dublin. It's more of a Galway sized city.
That said, Place De France is bit "Meh" for me. :)

Odysseum is a big ol' shopping centre complex, with restaurants and a kind of setting-down spot for buses etc.
It is just somewhere that people can get off the transfer from the train station and have easy access to the tram L1 direct to city centre.
If you are only in Montpellier for a day and a...

LOL, you did'nt ask about any of that but anyway, hope you have a great time and that the temperatures cool-off a little between now and your arrival. :)

One I recommend for a daytrip is the beautiful Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Without a car, Bus 668, although I've never used it.
The village is like time travelling, there's a river beach, canoe rental, amazing hikes though the valley behind the car-park. Good day trip. Not sure of the bus times though

It's a small city, so walking is all you need in centre-ville but I definitely recommend taking advantage of the some of the 600km of cycling paths. Perhaps to Palavas les Flots or the river Mosson source ?
It's even possible to cycle to Séte, which is 20 mins by train.

As mentioned, for your departure, you will be too early to take advantage of the extended linge 1 to Sud de France but its really a piece of cake. The Navette/free bus transfer from Odysseum linge 1 to Gare Sud de France leaves very regularly....maybe every 20 mins or something ?

Do download the Montpellier "TAM" tram app. It will work for buses, trams, and the city bikes. It's also much safer than using your card to pay at tram stops etc.
I don't know which hotel to recommend but there are many, many of them right beside Gare Saint Roch, so check them first.

Hi, I've taken the train from Saint Exupéry, Lyon airport to Montpellier many times. It's such a pleasure to arrive in the airport and have your train waiting to take you on the scenic journey to Montpellier.
Gare Saint Roch is right in the centre of Montpellier for your arrival.

Seriously though, only advice I have is "keep up the great work".

You should do a special limited edition of the collection that, when you open the book, it plays you reading it.
For extra publicity plant the 'book' in public libraries and tik tok the reactions when people open it.
Boom!
Pulitzer!!
You're welcome!

Even though geraniums' scent has always been suffocating to me, this is a fresh and joyous image and a nicely used pivot.
