Spring is always wonky. The spring flowers are doing their thing but yesterday we woke up COLD to snow on the hills again.

Here's Tama, to brighten your day up some... he likes to sit on top of the clothes line. 😂

Stunning Tata Beach sunset, back in August.

Tama's latest thing is to perch on top of the clothes-line and shimmy way up the cabbage tree. You can get yourself down little buddy 😂

Friday 13th and the world isn't in very shiny shape today. One more sleep until this nasty election is done, unfortunately many many more sleeps until there is peace and stability in Ukraine, Israel and Gaza. Here are some beautiful nature and watery pics to distract us.

Today's Tama is in jungle cat mode. He likes to pounce on the plants when they're not looking 😂

More signs of spring, the kereru and tui are back and on a feeding frenzy right outside our windows. Welcome back guys. 🥰

Love Maine Coon cats. This is the magnificent Tiger, of Auckland. She could be a sister to that cat!

Young Tama is pretty bewildered that a waka has appeared in his garden today. But seems to be keen to give it a try and paddle in seat two.

Love the cirrus clouds. We had some beautiful ones last week.
October 2, 2023 at 9:53 PM
Cool clouds today, interesting and wispy. 🥰Does anyone know what type of clouds these are?

Wow the year went fast, it's Fat Bear Week next week! 😍 Can 747 win twice in a row? Has Otis got one more title in him? Off to brush up on this year's chubby entrants - explore.org/meet-the-bears . Last year I voted for 747, king of gluttony, shall I back him again....

Oh excellent, this fledging friendship has promise. Tama is also a keen tree climber, so could join you up on a branch for a first chat with a bit of privacy.

Here you go.. blue sky with birdies.

Judging from all the pet pictures here, the new Blue people seem to be big animal-lovers. 😊 Introducing young Tama, our very happy and busy boy. "Tama's hobbies include tree-climbing, beach walks and gardening."

Hi Leanne, here's our wee library at Tata Beach, it's been popular since we 'launched' it in summer 2000. And let's catch up again next time I'm in Auck, I saw Viix on a flying visit last month. x

Spring is here part #2, the Hellebores are out, the brave swimmers are jumping into the icy water and the weekend's huge winds whipped up the waves to hammer our boat ramp and wreck our neighbour's ex-boat. 😥 Now the westerly is up again, joy!
September 20, 2023 at 11:24 PM
Sure, here you go...

Our cat has appointed himself the official beach ranger. Too funny, he follows me down to the beach unless I give him the slip.. hasn't tried swimming yet though.
September 19, 2023 at 2:36 AM
Well we sure got our share of the record high winds. This unfortunate fishing launch didn't make it thru' Sat. night and smashed itself to pieces on our beach. The authorities had already got everyone off safely hours earlier, phew. Yesterday's big clean-up was sad to watch but exciting on a Monday.

Snow on the hills and spooky misty morning over the island, but already lambs being born, goodbye to winter and spring is inches away...
August 26, 2023 at 9:27 AM
'Sunday Social' waka paddle in the morning. Paddling all through winter this year and we're getting some fantastic days out on the water, we just wear more clothes to stay warm...
