Loki just jumped into my lap for the first time in a week!! And he is PURRING! At least he is acting more like himself again.
Also, FÛCK YOU people, including the vet’s office, who basically said I should let my cat starve instead of stopping his meds until I can find a better solution.

I would like to hear from folks who have had their cats irritated to resolve thyroid issues. Pros. Cons. How old was your fur-child when it was done, etc.

Loki is carefully avoiding his meds while eating all around it, despite it hiding in the gooey churu-like stuff on top of his food to encourage him to eat. I had to resort to forcing his mouth open to get the pill in. We do not like this option.

Loki is carefully avoiding his meds while eating all around it, despite it hiding in the gooey churu-like stuff on top of his food to encourage him to eat. I had to resort to forcing his mouth open to get the pill in. We do not like this option.

I got Loki’s meds today. Pills for now and if they work, then the vet will discuss alternative modes.
My attempt to give him the pill directly was exactly as successful as I expected, which is to say not at all.
So, I hid it in his food, and it magically disappeared. 😺

I went out to eat dinner, and even read a book while eating. The restaurant was too damn cold. My food and coffee were cold within 5 minutes. Most restaurants are too cold, really, even in the summer.

Vet’s office phoned to tell me that Loki has a bad thyroid and needs meds.
They closed early today, so I will pop by before work tomorrow.
It’ll be such fun pilling that boy, but they said I could put it in his wet food to see if he just eats it without noticing. I approve of that plan.

This is the time of year in Florida where we need the AC during the day, and the heater at night!
I know my AC was on Monday afternoon because it was in the 70s. Monday night it’s 35, snd feels like 30! Inside my house it’s currently 66, so I haven’t turned the heat on just yet.

She died in 1995 at the age of 62.
I was 32 at the time and thought that was O-L-D!!
Now I am 62, and… okay, I’m old, but it doesn’t feel as old as it did to me 30 years ago!

I set a personal record this week by hiring and firing a mowing service on the same day. They didn’t do all the edging along my walkway, I complained, and they said “we only trim grass. That side has ivy, so we don’t trim there.” Buh-bye.

Sometimes when I get behind at work, or tasks as home, I get a never-ending tension headache. I’ve had one for about a month now.

Wow! I had no idea Mondays are a school “Early Release Day”, and it took an extra 30 minutes to drive the 5 miles to my doctor’s office. 30 minutes!! I had the joy of going through 3 school zones along the way.
Doctor couldn’t take me 30 minutes late, which is fair, so I rescheduled for Wednesday.
