its strange to me that games like cod or doom are completely fair game for teenagers, say. but games like fear & hunger (just as brutal and horrible, if more in your face about it) are seen as uniquely explicit for having a sexual element in them. (even though it isnt even slightly pornographic)

definitely start them off with pajama sam, but i think the issue is that our society views waaaaaaaaaay too much shit as pornographic. any depiction of sex or even straight up nudity is seen as evil porn that will corrupt the poor poor kiddies.

imo the story is very character driven. that they do not belong in the situation is the whole point. their dealing with the shit before them is the point of the story.

honestly i think they did exactly as much as they should have with it. they explore a variety of existentially horrifying scenarios, they keep their system consistent and logical, and they dont get lost up their own ass pontificating, instead allowing the player to stew on the implications themself.
