I’ll be debuting two new paintings at Wonder Pets 7, opening this Saturday at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland in Eagle Rock, CA! A portion of proceeds from this group art show will go to an intervention program in LA that helps to prevent pets from becoming shelter animals. 💝🐕 🐈

The fact that volunteering is on the decline in the U.S., should be an issue that is taking center stage in every union, especially those that rely on free labor to function. To ignore addressing this reality will only help to disengage members.

I had an amazing thing happen to me yesterday. A new fan of my work came to visit my studio. It was my first time ever hosting anyone in my studio. I was able to show her all the original paintings from my ‘Venus in the 12th’ series and showed her the poem I wrote within this illuminated manuscript:

One of the side effects of having your Birth Chart professionally read is getting blown away by how specific & detailed an astrology reading can be. Popular culture has misled most into thinking astrology is too broad &!simple to accurately describe someone. But turns out there is a lot more to it!

I once had the pleasure of working as a Director at Titmouse on a series of animated shorts for a NatGeo show. We were given a lot of time to produce these, so myself & my Co-Director ended up designing all the art ourselves and then supervising a team of Animators to bring these designs to life!

Working as a BG Painter on Bunnicula was challenging yet rewarding since it required creating a lineless look while working from line art that was given to us from the BG Design team. I loved working in this highly rendered style, although it’s rare to be given the time to achieve this kind of look.

My art accounts are usually separated from my astrology accounts on most sites (except here). I even have different business cards for each. So I had to think a minute how to blend the presentation of both at my booth for this market. I’m happy with the banner design I came up with! ✨

This week’s paint study. I got out of my comfort zone by using oils which I haven’t used in years. It was hard to mix the colors to be as vibrant as I would have liked. But I did appreciate how this medium forced me to work more loosely than I normally allow myself to work.

I’ve started a self-paced painting course and the nicest part is the push to just go paint something. It’s literally just, “Hey, just paint this thing. Don’t overthink it. Do it. Then turn it in so you can go onto the next class session.”

I wasn’t sure how this homemade cake would be received but apparently it was a hit. I’m just glad that my 9 year old didn’t ask for a Skibidi Toilet themed cake.

Adding candles to my art table vending setup has been one of the best business moves I’ve made. It doesn’t come across in pictures, but my candles are scented and the smell draws people in. (I took a perfumery class last year, so I like to think I know how to blend a nice scent). People may love 1/3
