Somehow, you think I am defending the governor and the LDS.I’m not.I just don’t think a lot of the people outside of the Utah/Idaho bubble understand it’s unique culture unless you have lived it.He would know better than to outright say “not a Latter Day Saint” and he wouldn’t say“immigrant” either.

What difference does it make to you? I was simply asking about an exploration of the culture. Yes. I agree with you about the LDS faith being misogynistic and abusive. But, it is completely different than evangelicals.I have listened to enough family members and LDS to hear something different.

Ok. I can see where you would think that is what it meant in the context. Having lived in the culture, I don’t agree. The LDS are a completely different animal than evangelicals.

I took it as not a Utahn, more specifically, not an LDS member. Not better, just I think the LDS culture needs to be explored more in this context.
