for me my difficulty is reading original fiction rather than going the easy route and reading what im comf with (aka fanfiction or schlocky gay webnovels), but maybe this will help you!?

first i find an author with an easy readable style that grabs me. i have to like the order they put the words in (its accessible AND it tickles my brain) then that pulls me in quicker. i also intentionally throw my phone across the room (the physical act helps) 2 signal 2 myself its reading time
