I’ve been pondering while making dinner. I wouldn’t hate socialized medicine. And housing and food as a basic human right. But because power corrupts, I don’t think I want the rest. I mostly don’t want people to suffer then die.

2/2 We are most definitely in our authoritarian era. I don’t see any reallocation of any resources to the poor, so not communism. Oligarchy? You betcha. Rich white men stepping on anyone not like them or who don’t closely follow their dogma, absolutely. Does this track? Trying to get it also.

I am by no means a poli-sci wonk, but authoritarianism is when a ruler forces compliance to their agenda. Isnt there supposed to be a piece where the worker has some power and that each person gets what they need from collective pool of resources (communism) whether they want to share or not. 1/2

You can text me your memes. I’m thinking those goals sound good for me. (I may also need you to go with me if I have to shop in person instead of online.)

Do you mean Merrick Garland’s quote— I think it is about consistently having and following a moral compass.
The comment about the quote— maybe that is about how the high competence, low drama approach didn’t work to eliminate Trump???

Owie. (And not commenting on your blue eyes because you are more than how you look. You are also, but not limited to, a great turn of phrase that makes my mouth hurt with you.)

RN for 30 yrs, FNP for 25 yrs. These are new old laws. It seems that folks without any practical experience are quick to recommend actions that will end careers and cause jail time in some states. It’s hard to care about their opinion when they have nothing to lose and aren’t in it with us.

I was scrolling and saw this… maybe these recommendations will help.

From NPR “Nickel Boys is one of the most thrillingly inventive literary adaptations our critic has seen in years, while The Brutalist is a rare American films that feels genuinely worthy of the word "epic."’

I’m going to watch Conclave with my oldest human this week. You could join us if you want to be alone together.

Wow… expecting someone to sacrifice their current and future livelihood (and access to care for all potential future patients) is kind of a big ask. I don’t think heaping shame on top of moral distress makes anything better.

There are plenty of non-Trump supporters who will also suffer heartily.
